What is the job of Remote Agent?

Remote agents are responsible for their clients’ careers and career choices. They act as the in-between for their clients and the people looking to hire them. Sometimes the client may seek them out and sometimes the agent will offer their representation. Often they represent performers and entertainers such as singers, actors, and even athletes. Agents will get a percentage of what their clients receive for their performance. It is usually up to the agent to draw up contractual agreements that determine the commission they will receive. Some common duties include negotiating rates with various employers, finding opportunities for their clients, promoting their clients to employers, visiting studios/venues/sets, and socializing with the intent of networking.

Frequently Asked Questions about Remote Agent jobs

Agents can indeed work remotely. Liaising with clients and potential employers is done primarily over the phone. Scheduling appointments and keeping organized can also be done online or with soft tools.

Negotiations with creative production houses usually go over better in a social setting. As remote agents, they won’t be able to conduct business as easily. They may also struggle to network as much of this is done at social events and in person.

If the agent works for a company, they might be provided with some equipment. This could be in the form of an allowance for a company cellphone and laptop. They may also receive a stipend for clothing that reflects well on the brand they’re representing. If the agency has the means they may upskill the employee with courses/lessons. This may be on the subject of negotiation or even networking.
