What is the job of Remote Asset Manager?

Remote asset managers will monitor and manage the assets of their clients. These assets are typically everything that makes up the client’s investment portfolio. This could include stocks and bonds, property, savings, belongings of significant value, and cash/cash equivalents. Most clients will require the asset manager holds a qualification in business, finance, or a related field. The candidate must monitor market changes and report back to their clients how these changes affect their investments. Asset managers may have one or several clients at any given time. Some of their responsibilities include compiling impact analysis reports, suggesting investment portfolio changes, reviewing accounts with stakeholders, and maintaining financial records.

Frequently Asked Questions about Remote Asset Manager jobs

Asset managers can indeed work remotely. They can keep in touch with clients via a web interface or telephonically. They can also conduct very intensive market research online. Accountancy programs either as an installation or an online app can be used to keep track of the client’s assets. These professionals have to maintain a very secure laptop with encryption and multi-factor authentication. This is to protect clients’ sensitive information.

When working remotely, asset managers are wholly responsible for protecting their client’s sensitive information. They can never allow anyone else to use their PC or ever leave it unlocked/unguarded. The PC must be fitted with remote access software so that it can be voided if it is ever stolen. On another note, it can be difficult to liaise with clients when not meeting in person. A lot of the discussions and nuances of the business are better conducted when face to face with a client.

If the asset manager is working for a firm/agency then they may provide some equipment. At the very least they will provide the candidate with an allowance to purchase the essentials. This may include a high-performance laptop as well as accounting software.
